2014: Botticelli & Flora

For the 2014 calendar, Peterson followed the seasons at Taleamor Park, subtly or overly transforming new growth in April, plum blossoms in May, wildflowers in July, autumn leaves in October, and Virginia creeper in November.

Inspired by the neo-classical works of Picasso, Peterson drew and used computer transformations to create January, March, and June from Sandro Botticelli’s epic painting Primavera.

He also grew a vast array of images from the Stadel Museum portrait of Simonetta Vespucci, Botticelli’s model and muse. (None of these are depicted here).

February, August, and September are pure abstractions from various sources, chosen to evoke the seasonalities of their respective months.
